When registration is enough
For capacities of up to 30 kW, the process is simply prior registration on the portal of the DGEG, the Portuguese energy authority, and it is usually completed within a few working days.
Documents required
Identification of the electricity contract holder, the CPE (the supply point code shown on your electricity bill), technical data for the equipment and the connection capacity. The whole process is submitted electronically.
Risks of not registering
As well as fines, an unregistered installation cannot sell surplus and may compromise the cover provided by your comprehensive home insurance.
